Employee Highlights

Nichole

Meet Nichole! Nichole has been with Maine Savings for ten months and is a Human Resources Specialist. As part of her role, she processes payroll for all employees, helps enroll employees in benefits, helps with recruiting behind the scenes by using our new Paycor Recruiting platform, and supports everyone in ways she can. Her favorite part of her job is assisting employees with their needs, whether big or small!

Outside work, Nichole spends her time hiking, camping, going on walks, or spending quality time with her kids and husband. If she could have one superpower, it would be to have the power to heal. One piece of advice that Nichole leaves us with is to always advocate for yourself. That can be either in your professional or personal life, but YOU are the best version of yourself.

Debbie

Meet Debbie! Debbie is the Vice President of Fraud Mitigation here at Maine Savings. She has been with us for about twenty-five years but has over forty-four years of experience in banking! In her role, she deals with anything and everything fraud - from mobile, ACH, checks, and shared branching. Her main goal is to mitigate risk for not only the credit union but our members as well. Debbie is passionate about putting her detective skills to good use to find the truth about any situation she is presented with. If there are any questions about fraud, Debbie is on it right away and is always there to help!

Recently, Debbie volunteered some of her time to the Bangor Humane Society and at the Kids Peace Golf Tournament, and she is looking forward to more opportunities to volunteer in any way she can. When she is not detecting fraud, you can find her spending a lot of time with her family and grandkids. She also recently found a new hobby of playing mini golf and getting all the hole-in-ones. On most weekends, you can find her eating at Pepinos or the Pepinos Taco Stand! One thing on her bucket list is to go to Las Vegas, and without a doubt, Debbie would be the one to go to Vegas with!

Roland

Meet Roland! Roland is our Senior Vice President of Lending and Business Development, providing residential and commercial lending. Throughout his role, he guides borrowers through the home financing process, gives presentations to referral sources, grows our referral source network through ongoing networking, always looks for opportunities to develop new home financing programs, and trains and develops our mortgage lending staff. Helping people get a home is his favorite part about his job, as buying a home is a significant step for people, and it is enjoyable and rewarding for him to help the community in this way. Throughout this process, he constantly develops new relationships that last many years.

Roland strongly supports community involvement and is involved with the Bangor/Brewer/Old Town Housing Authority Family Sufficiency Program, which helps families in public housing purchase their own homes. He is also actively involved with Rotary International and the Greater Bangor Association of Realtors. Finally, he is an alumnus of the Bangor Region Leadership Institute and a proud recipient of the 2015 Cecil Porter Extraordinary Service Award presented by Maine Savings.

In Roland’s free time, he may be on a boat fishing, over at the local golf course, or in his garden growing vegetables. Something unique about him is that he grew up in Searsport, Maine, where his family ran a grocery store (Al Rose Superette) for over 20 years. One thing on his bucket list is to vacation in Italy, where he will test out all their delicious food.

Aleisha

Meet Aleisha! For the past five years that Aleisha has been working at Maine Savings, she has had a number of roles. She started out as a Teller, then transitioned to an Assistant Teller Operations Supervisor. She then was a Training Development Specialist and is now a Business Application Analyst. Aleisha mentions that although her roles have changed quite a bit, she has been able to advance in her professional career and has had a lot of opportunities for growth in discovering what her strengths and interests are in her career. As a Business Application Analyst, her day varies depending on what the company needs, but her role is mainly composed of all things digital banking, assisting employees with their software needs, the development of internal electronic forms or documents, and maintenance of our internet.

When asked what part of our mission statement she connects with the most, she says that Maine Savings has continued to invest in her as an employee. She has felt supported and encouraged to grow professionally and personally since being employed here. She has been challenged but guided to exceed.

Something fun about Aleisha is that she can find interest in pretty much everything. For example, she can sew, knit, crochet, build or fix just about anything, draw, paint, and loves to organize. She finds joy in lots of things and can do anything she puts her mind to. Her dream is to be able to travel the world and visit places such as Greece, Ireland, New Zealand, and Brazil!
