FROM THE CEO

To Our Members

As I write this letter, the new Maine Savings Amphitheater is about to hold its first concert. The AMP is poised to be the finest music venue north of Boston. We are very proud to be the naming sponsor and to support the local economy and the arts in our great community.

Our investment in the community is bold – large and long term.

This positions Maine Savings as the leader in promoting our community as a “go to” destination and will drive positive growth for our local businesses. This growth will enhance the well-being of our residents and community-at-large.

We hope you enjoy many concerts this year and beyond.

One of our tag lines has been “Bank 207,” and this is meant to emphasize doing business in our great state. We would like to emphasize doing more than just business in Maine. One of our most important charitable priorities is supporting the efforts to end hunger throughout our state. It’s a terrible problem and Maine Savings and our employees commit considerable time, energy and money to work toward ending this serious issue.

We are focused on a significant plan of action in combination with our investment in the Amphitheater. Through a text-to-give promotion, we will be asking our concert-goers to voluntarily support our ending hunger efforts while attending a concert and donate at least $1. Just imagine if we have a sold-out concert of 17,000 people and we all donate at least $1! What an enormous difference that would make in the effort to end hunger in Maine! What a great story if we all pledge as a caring community to make this happen. You will be hearing much more about this as we enter the summer concert season. Let’s end hunger together!

Let’s briefly talk about your financial institution and the economy.

The economy continues to be a challenge for consumers and businesses alike. There continues to be rising uncertainty and pandemic-related disruptions continue unabated. Inflation is now a significant issue, and labor markets and supply chain issues have not improved to date.

With that said, employment numbers are quite positive and consumers continue to buy. Consumer confidence appears to be high and if businesses could staff effectively and supply chains improve, things may look more normal. We have confidence that things will continue to slowly improve and we are doing all we can, as your credit union, to help our members deal with their financial needs.

We remain extremely strong financially and are poised to help those in need and to supply world-class financial products and services. We are working every day to create new and improved services and to offer extremely competitively-priced products. Keep an eye open for some creative things coming your way soon.

We continue to lead the state in home and consumer lending and commercial services. And our staff is second-to-none in their expertise and passion for looking out for the financial well-being of our members. We have an experienced wealth management division that can help you chart your course to financial independence, and a full service insurance agency to help protect your assets. We are confident that our one-stop shop can serve all of your financial needs.

Remember to BANK MAINE SAVINGS.

  • We won’t sell you out.
  • We won’t merge you out.
  • We will continue to invest in our local communities.

As always, thank you for your continued business. I wish you all a wonderful Maine summer.
